A Dual Procedure

A breast augmentation and lift may be, in some cases, an appropriate treatment to fix sagging breasts. The effects of pregnancy, nursing, weight fluctuation, hormonal change, and natural changes due to the aging process are all factors that can determine whether this dual procedure is right for the patient.

Augmentation, or enlargement, is performed when there is a lack of fullness to the breast. Alift, also known as mastopexy, is a surgery to correct saggy or deflated breasts, addressing excess skin and restoring the appearance of perkiness. Most often, both the augmentation and the lift will be done in a single procedure. Other times, the surgeries will take place in stages, with the enlargement occurring first, and the lift taking place 4 to 6 months later.
