Top Liposuction Areas

When most people think of the word “liposuction” they commonly associate it with a procedure designed to remove abdominal fat. While liposuction does target belly fat for a smoother, firmer surface, it can also be performed on other areas of the body for the same purpose and result.

Here, we take a look at some of the top liposuction locations, separate of the abdomen, that can make a major improvement in your physical appearance and, more importantly, your confidence.

Liposuction 101

Before we delve into the possible points of concern for liposuction, let’s start with what exactly liposuction entails.

Liposuction or lipoplasty suctions away stubborn fat that diet and exercise have failed to minimize. This procedure reduces the appearance of fatty tissue in a particular area; also defined as: “lipo” by patients, [liposuction] slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits, improving your body contours and proportion.”

Contrary to popular belief, liposuction does not return the kind of noticeable results as weight-loss procedures like gastric bypass. In fact, ideally, candidates for liposuction are at a stable weight and are simply trying to firm up or smooth specific areas on their body.

Who Should Consider Liposuction?

Among the best candidates for liposuction are:

  • Non-smokers
  • individuals who fall within 30% of their ideal weight
  • individuals whose skin is firm with good elasticity

Non-Abdominal Top Spots for Liposuction

We all have those areas we feel self-conscious about for whatever reason. Some women, for example, refuse to wear tank tops or sleeveless shirts in the summertime because they don’t like the look of their arms. Men might opt to wear a tee-shirt in the water on a beach vacation because they are concerned about their love handles.

No matter the area, Dr. Sterling specializes in enhancing the appearance of top trouble spots like:

  • Upper arms
  • Legs
  • Love handles
  • Hips
  • Back
  • Bra rolls
  • Thighs
  • Neck
